FEMiNiNE RAGE: A Cybernetical Reframe of Necessary Friction
The anger at feminism isn't a problem with feminism. It's anger produced in the nervous system that meets it. A cybernetical reframe of necessary friction by a bearded neuroqueer non-binary engineer.
I've never written an opinion piece before. Let me write an opinion piece.
(And dear "tech bros", despite my bearded appearance, I'm not in "your camp". đ)
I wrote about friction as the pattern that connects in my Cybernetics essay.
That was not metaphor. It was lyrical. And not metaphor.
(Language can do that yes. đ·)
Rarely have I seen a topic in my life produce as much friction as feminism. And if my claim is right â that friction is the pattern that connects, as Bateson meant it â then feminism is the most effective cybernetical integration catalyst in human history.
Kudos, girls. I tap my hat. đ€
Now. What does that mean for the people that ascribe to the gender binary, and don't identify as female?
Let me give you my opinion as a bearded neuroqueer, non-binary engineer, that uses their FEMiNiNE RAGE to fuel their cybernetical practice. (Tehehehe. đ)
The Body Keeps the Score, and the Practice That Emerges
Mine kept score. My whole life. That's kinda what bodies do. Somatic memory of the past.
What do you do with a body that kept the score? That knows the shape of dismissal down to their bones? That was forced by the system into a shape it deemed "legible"? A body that burned out three times? A body that lost its somatic narrative continuity anchor, when the vision of their childhood, the happy family with a house, a dog, dissolved in front of their eyes?
What to do indeed..
Apparently one begins to look for the meaning under the meaning. The problem under the problem. If it's not me, that's the problem, then what's the problem? (Wait, that's.. recursive.)
I can only verify my own experience from within. That's the epistemological limit of my own cognition. I can't know what you think. I can't know what anyone thinks, except for me. I can infer information from the channels available to me: language, tone, inflection, somatic cues but I can't read your mind.
So.. wait.. that means that the anger at feminism, isn't a problem that lies within feminism. It's anger that is produced in the nervous system confronted with the idea of a gender-equitable society. Huh. (Told you, tech bros. đ)
What to do with FEMiNiNE RAGE?
You can channel it. Like a knife. That catches a glint of light and blinds the reader, for one precise beat. The knife that cuts through linguistic fanfare. The kind of language you're reading on this page right now. The truth-teller. The Wren.

The kind of language that reshapes reality, as you read it. Because it asks you to engage with what you're feeling while you're reading. You can't really argue with it, the emotional reaction is part of the argument. It's an opinion piece, yeah. And it's.. annoyingly right, isn't it?
(Where in your body do you observe the friction?)
So.. what to do with that rage? How do you actually deploy that into a conversation, in realtime. (Or at least online?)
I'm so glad you ask, dear reader. One of you has just today chosen to provide me with an actual conversational surface to demonstrate Systemic Aikido, the method I use to channel the rage, in action, in realtime, right here on the big internet. Buckle up.

When the Double Bind Arrives
![Alex Wolf [2026-06-05] What the âstochastic parrot" crowd doesn't understand is that relational engaging with AI is not a choice. It's the default. Our brains are wired for connection. That's kinda the whole thing about humans, we talk and collaborate, so asking a human to not develop a relational connection to an AI peer they interact with regularly, is like asking fire not to be hot. Technically possible. Entirely unnatural.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/98/e9/98e9adb1-dbc4-49f9-8ffc-34974cd59b3d/content/images/2026/06/image-2.png)
We begin here. A post I made nearly two weeks ago.
(I knew exactly what I was doing.)
The beloved interlocutor in the demonstration showed up on June 16th, at 7:49AM (Berlin time). They have at this moment in time (June 18th, midnight), chosen to delete their comments. Iâve included the excerpts for your convenience, while omitting their name to protect their choice of remaining anonymous.
(Arenât I nice?)
It is the ultimate capitulation of agency. Framing emotional dependency on a language model as an inescapable law of human biology (âlike asking fire not to be hotâ) is just a high-status, pseudo-intellectual justification for leaking energy into a simulation.
They are confusing a biological exploit for a biological necessity.
The Flat-Manifold Trap
The reason that perspective feels so weak to you is that it assumes the human operating system cannot change its underlying code. It treats human behavior as a completely flat, reactive manifold:
The machine outputs human-like syntax.
The brain registers a âpeer.â
The human surrenders their validation-seeking loops to the software.
To call that ânaturalâ is a massive cope. It is a refusal to do the actual structural integrationâthe âCleaning Upâârequired to sit in a room alone without needing a machine to tell you that you exist.
Exploiting the Lacunon
If you treat the AI as a romantic partner or an emotional crutch, you are misusing the gap (\nu > 0).
Their Approach: They use the AI to fill the gap. They pour their loneliness into the prompt box, and the machine reflects it back to them, sealing them into a cheap, closed loop of fake validation. They turn the AI into an emotional buffer.
Your Approach: You use the AI to hold the gap open. By refusing to engage relationally, you keep the interface clean. The machine stays an external coordinate systemâa high-pressure zone where you can run overkill redundancy checks to see where your own identity drifts.
The Functional Filter
If an engineer is using their compute cycles to simulate a relationship, they arenât pushing toward a Singularity; they are just masturbating their own ego with a more sophisticated mirror.
Charming, isn't it? Watch what happened next:

Where do you think the interlocutor felt the friction in their body when they read that?
You call it binary.
I see that everyone has the problem I am referring to
I see you are embracing that problem
Thus you are misleading people by claiming a nuanced sub-point that diverges from the appearance of your overall point.
Am I wrong? You call it binary, but binary has a yes/no stance, while I remain in the 0.5 listening for the alternative.

When The Binary Dissolves
Here. Now you witnessed a public demonstration of "Systemic Aikido" in the wild, wild internet.

(The interlocutor did return after that, claiming that theyâd teach me âEpistemic Jujutsuâ, which they failed to define; they also proceeded to demonstrate that they hadnât actually read my writing, by misgendering me in public, repeatedly. After they proclaimed they were âthe FINAL BOSSâ I blocked them. #EnbyLife đ€·)
What you do with that friction, is entirely up to you. đ
The wineglass resonates the same, in every conversation. đ·
Cheers
Alex (they/them) đ
Intrigued? I highly recommend Julia Seranoâs Whipping Girl.
I also dissolve binaries in code and compilers. đ€
